This cream cheese icing is light, fluffy and buttery. It makes a perfect addition to cakes, cupcakes and cookies.


Units Scale
  • 3/4 cup cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3 cups icing sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract


  1. Beat cream cheese and butter together. Add icing sugar and vanilla extract. Beat on low to incorporate and then on high speed until smooth, light and fluffy.
  2. Use icing at room temperature.
